Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 500 block of 58th Street, Northeast.
On Saturday, May 24, 2015 at approximately 9:04 pm, members of the Sixth District responded for the report of a shooting in the 500 block of 58th Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, members located an adult male in the 500 block of 58th Street, and a second adult male in the 300 block of 58th Street, Northeast, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both were transported to local hospitals where the second adult male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 20 year-old Devonte Reed of Lanham, Maryland.
The first male, 26 year-old Jamie Patterson of Northeast, Washington, DC, who was located in the 500 block of 58th Street, Northeast, was arrested by detectives of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch, charging him with Murder II while Armed in the shooting death of Devonte Reed.
