After touring in Spain in 2000, WOUNDEDSPiRiT took a step back. That is until 2016. They got back together for a Judgestock show and by the following year were back in the studio working on the first song for their debut album, 2018’s FOREVER young. The album went on to win BCM Awards Album of the Year, and with that two of the original members, Elton McTaggart (drums) and Jason Kelly (vocals) knew they had to continue on.

Jason Kelly notes of their return after 16 years, “We are flying the flag for the 40-somethings who are the new generation who have remembered where they left their guitars and started playing them again.”

With a sound that falls under a variety of umbrellas, WOUNDEDSPiRiT could fit in a multitude of places. FOREVER young incorporated not only various styles but topics as well. Which will likely be the case as they finish up DiVERSiTY for its May 2020 release. With a taste of what’s to come, “Taking Back Control” has already proven to be a fan favorite.

WOUNDEDSPiRiT may have taken a break once the new millennium set in, but they’re back and better than ever. Those interested in adding “Taking Back Control” to their playlists, reviewing the single, or interviewing Elton and Jason can reach out via the information provided below.
