Christmas radio is coming to town.
iHeartMedia Chicago announced Monday that it will debut its Christmas music station in the city Tuesday.

The kick-off for holiday tunes on the 93.9 LITE FM station begins at 4 p.m., the station announced. The music will continue on the station through the end of the year.
“There’s no place like home for the holidays and we are delighted to be Chicagoland’s home for holiday cheer in our 19th year,” Mick Lee, program director and afternoon host for 93.9 LITE FM, said in a statement. “We’re honored that so many Chicagoans include us in their annual holiday traditions and we can’t wait to celebrate the season with Christmas music, fun contests, and a few new surprises along the way!”
The station’s announcement follows Mariah Carey’s declaration Friday that it was officially time for Christmas music to begin.
The “All I Want for Christmas is You” singer posted a video on Instagram showing her receiving a call from Santa before she says “It’s time!”
Her hit holiday song turns 25 this year after it was released in 1994.
