Sydney, NSW, Australia — Australian Folk/Rock Singer Songwriter Matt Boylan-Smith to release anthemic rock track “Gloria” to complete a huge year of releases.
Matt’s latest track rounds out his prolific 2022 having earned a slot on the bill at Bluesfest as a finalist of the Bluesfest Busking Competition along with sold-out release shows in Sydney and his hometown of Bathurst.
“I wrote most of Gloria in Austria when I was having a little break on a tour. I had this peculiar night, must have went back to my hotel and written a verse and a chorus. I found it in my voice memos when I went in to record and went big with it in the studio with Dan Frizza”
The rhythmic drums of Miles Thomas (Montaigne) propels the verse into a memorable and anthemic chorus with soaring vocal harmonies, huge guitar by Matt and Andrew Dean as well as a striking piano refrain played by Matt that augments the chorus and attempts to answer the questions asked in the lyrics from Matt’s earnest performance.
Gloria features multi-instrumentalist Matt Boylan-Smith on vocals, electric guitar, piano and Synth alongside producer Dan Frizza, who has recently been working with Tones and I as her sound engineer.
Matt is performing with his band on the 13th November at the Cowra Civic Theatre and is planning an East Coast tour in early 2023.
“Boylan-Smith sings every song as though it is his last – full of feeling and with full commitment” – Von Haus Clock, Brake, Germany.
