Rome, IT, Italy — It will be out by December the highly anticipated new album by Marcello Appignani entitled Angeli – Nuove apparizioni (Angels – New Apparitions, Ed. MEP – Music Ensemble Publishing). The CD, both physical and digital, is the ninth of the Italian composer and is released following a long gestation period, six years after the release of the previous album Solochitarra (Guitar only).
The project involves a massive and varied use of musical instruments, from orchestra, choir, electronics and the collaboration of numerous and esteemed soloists called to the recording of winds, strings and harp. It all comes from a reworking of the composition Angeli (Angels) written by the Maestro exactly twenty years ago for a collective exhibition of contemporary visual art.
The album, in addition to the revised and re-recorded 2003 music, includes four new tracks featuring the archangels: Gabriel and his grace, Michael and his energy, Raphael and his intensity, Uriel and his light. These pieces were written for trio with Marcello Appignani on guitar and keyboards, Giuliana Elena Jurado Bonomi on violin and Maria Sofia Rinaldi on cello.
13 painters are part of the project and included in the CD booklet for as many works inspired by the new album. On the cover, the work Il Messaggero painted specifically by Maestro Osvaldo Sabene.

ABOUT
Graduated in Composition at the Conservatory of Frosinone (Italy), the composer and multi-instrumentalist Marcello Appignani has composed a great amount of works for various instruments and for various musical genres, for theatre, cinema, and TV. As concert performer he played for relevant personalities of the Italian cultural scene. He is the Artistic Director of Euromusic Music Agency (Classical Music Department), of Terre di Maremma Classica – Jazz Festival, member of SIMC – Italian Contemporary Music Society and, since 2022, Editorial Manager of MEP – Music Ensemble Publishing. Angeli – Nuove apparizioni is his ninth album.
