Born in Moscow in 1992, Fedor Rudin left Russia for Paris when he was two years old. The grandson of Russian avant-garde composer Edison Denisov, he studied under Svetlin Roussev in Paris, Zakhar Bron at the Cologne University of Music, and Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.
Having won prestigious international competitions, including the Premio Paganini in Genoa and the George Enescu in Bucharest, Fedor Rudin is now one of the most accomplished and versatile musicians of his generation. He has performed as a soloist in renowned venues like the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall, New York; the Konzerthaus Berlin; and the Philharmonie de Paris. He has played under the baton of leading conductors such as Maxim Vengerov, Christoph Poppen, Conrad van Alphen, and Isaac Karabtchevsky. He also plays in chamber music ensembles, alongside pianists like François Dumont and Itamar Golan.

Many talents
At the age of 27, the young violinist was made solo violinist at the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, considered one of the best orchestras in the world, where he will be replacing one of the four Konzertmeister solo violinists for two years before being given tenure. Fedor Rudin is also one of the founding members of the Fratres ensemble, described by the press as the “new generation of classical music” for its original instrumentation: violin, saxophone and piano. Another talent of his: directing orchestras. Passionate about the repertoires of opera and symphonic music, Fedor regularly conducts large ensembles such as the Petrobras Orchestra of Rio de Janeiro, the Reino de Aragon Orchestra and the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Safran Foundation for Music, which has supported him since 2015, funded his first CD, “Reflets”, which was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards. In this same year, Fedor Rudin was awarded the foundation’s prize. He plays a “Lorenzo Storioni, Cremona, 1779” violin, generously lent to him by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben in Hamburg.
