Touted as one of the most successful new-age groups ever, Sailors Gang lived to their billing at the Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVA), 2019.
Held at the Standard Group offices, Mombasa Road on December 5, PMVA was Sailors’ night as they bagged fours awards; New Wave of the Year, Best Group of the Year and Viewer’s Choice of the Year and Best Collaboration of the Year.
The latter of which was courtesy of their Wakiritho anthem having been featured by Namba Nane’s finest, rapper Octopizzo.
Octopizzo, visibly proud, joined the gang on stage to rousing approval and in his remarks, vowed that the best for him and Sailors was yet to come.

Sailors’ four wins were the highest by any artist or group in the event graced by several personalities including Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and his Starehe counterpart Charles Kanyi alias Jaguar.
Comprised of Miracle Baby, Qoqos Juma, Shalkido, Masilver and Lexxy, the fast-rising Gengetone group were magnanimous in their win.
“To all our fans, thank you so much for believing in us. It proves that the youth are capable of rising above and beyond. Keep supporting Kenyan talent, music, and, above all, let us keep the flag high. We are all winners,” said Miracle Baby on the side-lines.

Others who went home with bragging rights included the OG, Khaligraph Jones, who scooped Male Video of the year Award, Becky- Video Vixen of the Year, Female Video of the Year – Nadia, Nviiri- New Artist of the Year, Zzero Sufuru with Best Breakthrough of the Year, Ricky Bekko – Video Director of the Year and Moji Short Baba – Gospel Video of the Year.
