Get ready to party like it’s 1969, Pensacola.

Seville Quarter is celebrating Woodstock’s 50th anniversary with a 1960s-style music festival Aug 16-18. The homage concludes with a Woodstock Sunday Brunch on Sunday.

“We’ve done Woodstock Weekend at Seville for years and years on the anniversary of Woodstock, but this being the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, you know, that’s a big deal,” said Buck Mitchell, Seville’s marketing director. “Woodstock is the quintessential music festival and all of downtown — not just Seville — all of Gallery Night’s going to be taken over by peace, love and maybe some great art. Definitely some great music.”

Every room at Seville on 130 E. Government St. will be temporarily renamed for the occasion with a Woodstock-inspired moniker, and Pensacola’s historic restaurant and nightclub will promote a specialty menu all weekend long.

Festivities get underway at 5 p.m. Friday with a happy hour cookout at the end of the alley. The Woodstock-themed Gallery Night also gets going at that time and the good times roll all through the weekend.

Dressing up for the occasion is encouraged — that means tie-dye and other ’60s-inspired fashion choices should be on display.

Of course Seville will adhere to the theme with a special “Tripped-Out Woodstock Menu,” featuring 1969 prices.

From 8-10 p.m. on Saturday, Budweiser bottles will cost just $1. And throughout the weekend, a special Picker’s Vodka Purple Haze Cocktail will cost $5, Mitchell said.
