Shikhar Dhawan took his fans by surprise on Tuesday when he posted a video of himself playing flute while facing a scenic sea shore.

Shikhar Dhawan, in an Instagram video that has gone viral, can be seen passionately playing the flute. The India opener has certainly showcased he is not just good at smashing the leather ball across the cricket fields but also at playing the woodwind instrument.

“A fresh start.. Trees, the wind, the ocean & some music = bliss,” Shikhar Dhawan wrote as caption for the video.
A section of fans were genuinely surprised to see the thigh-patting India cricketer flaunt his mastery over flute.

Fans were appreciative of Shikhar Dhawan’s effort with the flute.

Notably, Shikhar Dhawan has been learning to play the flute over the last 4 years. The India opener took to social media in 2018 and revealed he has been learning his “favourite instrument” under Guru Venugopal.

Hi guys. Wanted to share something that’s very dear to my heart n is different side to me. For last 3 yrs I’ve been learning the flute (my fav instrument). I’ve had the privilege of taking lessons with my Guru Venugopal Ji. I still have a long way to go but I’m glad I’ve started. pic.twitter.com/eh6HTDobxI

Shikhar Dhawan missed the Test series action in West Indies as the India opener is no longer in contention for selection in the longest format of the game.

Dhawan’s form with the bat in the limited-overs series against West Indies was far from impressive as 65 runs in 5 innings.

Dhawan was in fine form in World Cup 2019 as his hundred helped India script a big win over Australia in the league phase. However, the Delhi batsman was ruled out for the remainder of the tournament with a thumb injury.

Dhawan will be next seen in action in the T20I series against South Africa, starting September 15 at home.
