South African Dancing Voices (Sadvo) and the University of Limpopo (UL) Choir are planning a night of classical music with orchestra to celebrate the lives of SJ Khosa and W A Mozart at Sun Meropa on 16 November and tickets are already available.
According to Thabe Matsebatlela, conductor of the UL Choir, the programme will include Muponisi, Yesu wanga with flute, oboe, clarinet, strings, trombone, percussions and piano as well as Vunyingi bya vakutsuriwa with flute, oboe, clarinet, strings and piano, all by SJ Khosa. The W A Mozart repertoire will include Swidyondzeki with flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, percussions, guitar, bass guitar, drums, strings and piano as well as O Yesu Murandziwa with flute, oboe, clarinet, percussions, strings and piano.
Sadvo was established in 2010 to uphold the principles of humanity, promote healthy living, support early childhood education, increase student involvement in the community and serve the community using music as medium of conveying fruitful messages of hope. Proceeds from entrance fees will be directed towards a Christmas package for a Drop-in-Centre in Mankweng.
The event starts at 18:00 and tickets cost R150 per person or R250 per couple and include a meal and a programme book.
