Deadmau5 captivates Houston’s EDM crowd at Revention Music Center

It’s not just the Deadmau5’s hypnotic EDM music that mesmerizes audiences. It’s the rich visual feast of otherworldly lights, colors and imagery that also captivated fans at his live performances for “Where’s the Drop?’ album release.

Canadian EDM pioneer Deadmau5, aka Joel Zimmerman, kept hundreds of Houston fans entranced with a imaginative orchestral show at Houston’s Revention Music Center on Thursday night.  Houston concertgoers got into the ambience and surreal dance vibes of Deadmau5’s original show.

Dubbed one of the most enigmatic artists of EDM, Deadmau5 is known for his talent in composition and arrangement. “Where’s the Drop?” stands out from Zimmerman’s previous work since he’s now partnered with South African composer, Gregory Reveret to help the orchestral arrangement.

One of the rare, experiential features of Deadmau5’s live performance was the “CubeV3 experience.” Through this visually creative approach, the musician was positioned behind a rotating cube on stage, interacting with the audience.
