Lisa Marie Presley is still battling her ex-husband in their divorce, and recently it was revealed just how much was on the line when she tied the knot in 2007.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Lisa Marie and Michael Lockwood entered into a post-nuptial agreement after they were married over 10 years ago.
In the agreement, her portion of the Elvis Presley music fortune is worth an astounding $71,663,382.
Her attorneys, at the time, laid out the agreement to make sure her money was protected if the couple ever got divorced, as they did years later.
The document also reveals her new husband was broke.
The parties were married on January 22, 2006 in Kyoto, Japan and are still married to each other.
“Wife is 39 years old and has been previously married three times. She is the mother of two children, Danielle Riley Keough (date of birth May 29, 1989), and Benjamin Keough (date of birth October 21, 1992). Husband is 45 years old. He has not previously been married and has no children,” the agreement reads.
It continues, “Wife is a woman of substantial means. Husband is a professional musician and producer with negative net worth.”
The agreement was filed with a request for Lockwood to pay Lisa Marie’s attorney fees after he lost his bid to invalidate the post-nup.
“It is absolutely clear that the Petitioner was the prevailing party in the litigation in which the Respondent attempted to invalidate the parties’ Postnuptial Agreement. Accordingly, base the language in that valid Agreement, Petitioner is entitled to her reasonable fees and costs,” the document states.
Lisa Marie’s attorney fees were almost $150,000 just to fight him over the postnuptial agreement.
