One of Windsor’s oldest community theatre groups will bring a classic show to the stage this fall.

Windsor Light Music Theatre will bring Roald Dahl’s Tony award-winning Matilda the Musical to life at a downtown theatre in November.

The show follows the journey of Matilda, a young intelligent girl with psychokinetic powers, who charms everyone but her parents and the school’s headmistress.

“Windsor Light Music Theatre has assembled a very talented and creative cast and crew to bring you Matilda the Musical — a magical, entertaining, funny and energetic show about a brilliant young girl and her ‘interesting’ life,” director Connie Farrer said. “With two great local performers sharing the lead role of Matilda, it’s so good you’ll want to see it twice.”

The Windsor Light Music Theatre, a non-profit community theatre group, has produced plays for local audiences since 1948.

Matilda will take the stage at St. Clair College Centre for the Arts’ Chrysler Theatre the weekends of Nov. 15 and 22. Friday shows start at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $19 for youth (12 and under), $31 for students (13-18), $36 for adults (19-59), and $31 for seniors (60+).
