Music, dance, beer and baseball highlight Houston’s last October weekend

The Astros’ magnificent Game 6 win over the Yankees wasn’t the only thing drawing Houstonians outside their homes over the weekend.

Friday night, dirndls and lederhosen were abound at King’s Bierhaus for the 2019 Oktoberfest party. The Heights-area bar attracted a thirsty and hungry crowd with authentic bratwurst and specialty beer.

Saturday, Columbian singer Maluma returned to Houston for a special show at White Oak Music Hall. It wasn’t Toyota Center, but the energy was just as vibrant as fans approached with enthusiasm and “barely there dresses,” according to Chronicle music critic Joey Guerra.

Around the same time, things were popping at Revention Music Center though you wouldn’t hear it. A Halloween-themed Silent Disco  brought a different kind of party to downtown Houston with headset-wearing attendees dancing the night away as DJs battled it out for the top spot.

But the real star this past weekend as all on Minute Maid Park as the Astros took on the Yankees for Game 6. Did we mention they won? Astros fans were decked out in their team colors and were all smiles when the game was finally over.
