Founded in 1960, the Ohio Arts Professionals Network (OAPN) provides a forum for developing business relationships, partnerships and cooperative ventures among organizations that present arts and entertainment programming. It works with performers as well.

Ultimately, it aims to help arts service organizations and artist management agencies doing business in Ohio and nearby states by strengthening the quality of their programming.

OAPN has just announced that its 2020 conference will take place from Oct. 18 to 20 at the Music Box Supper Club and the Aloft Hotel located on the East bank of the flats. The event, open to OAPN members, isn’t typically held in Cleveland, but newly appointed Executive Director Jessica Rosenblatt is based here in Cleveland; she hopes local artists will gravitate to it.

The conference, which takes place every other year, connects presenters, booking agents and artists who’ll be networking throughout the event. There will be about 24 showcases that’ll take place over three days.

Aloft Hotels will offer a free shuttle to drive guests the one-mile trip to and from the music venue, which is located on the West Bank, and the hotel.

A call for artists who want to perform will go out in March, and a committee will decide then who performs at the event. OAPN will also sell day passes for local musicians and artists who want to attend.
