We open this week’s show with Milky Chance, a duo from Germany that makes morning-after grooves with a global feel. Their new album is called Mind the Moon. We’ve also got two powerful, posthumous releases, one from the avant-garde composer and cellist Arthur Russell and the other from the late rapper Lil Peep, who died two years ago today (on Nov. 15, 2017). Singer Mary Lambert, best known as the voice behind the hook on Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ 2012 song “Same Love,” has a deeply emotional and affecting solo album called Grief Creature. There’s also new music this (very busy) week from Joe Henry, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, the country trio Lady Antebellum and more. NPR Music’s Ann Powers and Stephen Thompson join host Robin Hilton as they run through their picks for the best new albums out Nov. 15.
