As we can glance through the Xperia 5’s specs, we can’t help but notice as though it is a scaled-down version of the Xperia 1.

it might also indicate a cheaper price tag, although the official price has yet to be revealed.

Blessed with a 6.1-inch OLED screen, the Xperia 5 won’t be sporting the Quad HD resolution – instead a Full HD+ resolution will be there. The size is just lovely, with a beautifully symmetrical design with a precision-engineered metal frame. It is for those who are looking for an entertainment powerhouse, as the 21:9 CinemaWide 6.1″ display is the perfect way to experience movies, TV shows and games with bright, precise detail and colours.

As for the protection, Xperia 5 will definitely be able to protect it from harm’s way. There’s the IP65/IP68 rating which makes it dust and waterproof, while the Gorilla Glass 6 protects it from slippery fingers that could survive a fall.

In terms of performance, you will find nothing but the best from the Xperia 5. It is blessed with the high-end Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with a blazingly fast Kryo octa-core processor, high-end Adreno 640 graphics and 6GB RAM. This combo ensures that it can run just about anything that you throw at it, and still be able to take in more.

Talking about gaming in specific, you can see more of the action and get the jump on the competition with the 21:9 CinemaWide display. Then there’s the unique Game enhancer add-on that will boost your gameplay.

Camera-wise, this is perhaps the highlight of the show for Xperia 5. The triple primary camera setup comes with a 16mm lens for a super-wide angle, a versatile 26mm and a 52mm portrait and tele lens, you are ready for any occasion. And with advanced technologies from Sony’s Alpha cameras, enjoy precision focus with Eye Autofocus as well as Optical SteadyShot™ for smooth and shake-free videos.

With 128GB of internal storage, it is more than capable to install all your favorite apps and games. If you need more space, just pop in a microSD card and it can easily add up to a maximum of 1TB of additional space.

To make the Xperia 5 a complete entertainment smartphone, it comes with Dolby Atmos that adapts the premier cinema sound experience, creating a great atmosphere of sound that flows above and around you. What makes it even better, you can take this cinematic experience and enjoy movies and music wherever you go.

Conclusion:

Sony Xperia 5 is like a dream come true for most of us. Great screen, great performance, great camera, great sound and many more, makes for an exciting package. The only thing missing now is its price tag.

Sony Xperia 5 is expected to be released next month in October 2019, and it should be priced slightly lower than the Xperia 1. There will be four colours available: Blue, Red, Black and Grey.
