The annual Helper Arts, Music and Film Festival is going to be in full swing on Helper’s historic Main Street beginning Thursday, August 15 and running till Sunday, August 18. The 25-year festival has been able to expose and promote working artists both in arts, music and film.

On Thursday evening, Price City’s Culture Connection will close out their season and help kick off the Helper, Arts, Music and Film Festival by hosting their summer concert series in Helper in the Main Street Park. “It’s Thursday the 15th we’ll have our gallery stroll in connection with Culture Connection, so bring your chairs, enjoy The Deltaz and go see the art and just have a good time,” said an Event Coordinator, Kate Kilpatrick-Miller. The Deltaz are a band that have worked over a decade to master a wide spectrum of sounds, from heavy blues and psychedelic rock to classic country and folk. They will perform again during the festival on Saturday at 4:00 pm on the Main Street stage.

On Friday, vendors will begin to set up and will be open to the public at 12:00 pm. “Well we’ll have our vendors set up and we’ll have our food court and we’re just ready to have a good time. We’ll have a great music lineup this year Friday and Saturday, so bring your chairs to the park and be ready,” said an Event Coordinator, Vikki Ori. Parents should plan on taking their children to the new & improved Kids Art Yard this year. “We’ve added more to the Kid’s Art Yard, that’s kind of been something for me to do I’m very much a proponent for kid’s art and art education and so I’ve really tried to encourage that piece,” said Kilpatrick-Miller. The Kid’s Art Yard will be open on Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and then on Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Saturday will kick off bright and early with a 5K Fun Run at 8:00 am. The car show will start registration at 8:00 am till 10:00 am, with this year’s show taking place on the north side of Helper’s historic Main Street. The local Clampers will host their annual breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 am till 11:00 am. Free film showings held inside the Rio Theatre beginning at 4:00 pm for the public to enjoy. Live entertainment will be held on the Main Street Stage beginning at 12:00 pm till 11:30 pm.

Sunday will start the morning off with Yoga in the park followed by Mariachi De Mi Tierra on the Main Street Stage at 11:00 am till 1:00 pm. Vendors will close up around 2:00 pm on that day.
