Temperatures are still soaring – but the end of summer is in sight and next month Gozo will be celebrating an End of Summer Fest.

The beautiful setting of Zewwieqa in Mgarr Harbour will be the venue for the Summer Fest, which will be held over three evenings from the 13th to the 15th of September.

The celebrations will include music, dance, carnival and above all, lots of fun and laughter for all ages.

The festival is organised by the Ministry of Gozo in collaboration with Festivals Malta – entrance is free of charge.

The programme is as follows:

Friday 13th September – Rock Legends

The opening night gets underway at 10:30pm with the second edition of – Rock Legends – featuring the bands Strait Ahead and The Rock Troupers, alongside singers Kenneth Calleja, Leo Stivala and Chris Grech.

Saturday 14th September – Gozo Summer Carnival

Carnival can come more than once a year and starting at 7:00pm, Mgarr will come alive with the second edition of the Summer Carnival with street parades featuring 12 triumphal floats, grotesque masks, 8 dance companies, 3 local band clubs and live entertainment by The Jazz Knights with Pennydix Band.

Visitors to the carnival can take advantage of two ‘park and ride’ services that will be available from the Gozo heliport and Qala Street to Zewwieqa, and back.

Sunday 15th September – Jazz Do

Jazz Do will provide the entertainment for the closing night of the festival, starting at 8pm. The concert will feature sessions by Dominic Galea: Generation, Angie Vella Zarb Trio and The Malta Concert Orchestra. The Jazz Do concert is organised in collaboration with Pjazza Teatru Rjal.
