LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, April 27, 2017 — Scott Mauro is an award-winning Producer of live events, Broadway shows and television specials. Before establishing his own production company in 1993, Scott Mauro Entertainment, Inc., Mauro was Director of Network Specials for Walt Disney Television serving as Executive Producer and Creative Director on all of Disney’s NBC specials. He has served as Executive Producer/creator for many of the entertainment industry’s most acclaimed, star-studded award galas, concerts, television specials, and Broadway shows.

Over the years Scott has successfully integrated the very best talent into the events he’s helmed and produced. On Broadway, Scott is currently a producer on the critically acclaimed new musical, Dear Evan Hansen at the Music Box Theatre. He was a Producer of The Glass Menagerie starring Cherry Jones and Zachary Quinto which won the 2014 Outer Critics Circle Award, the Drama Desk Award and was nominated for seven Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Play. He was also a Producer of the hit musical, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, winner of the 2011 Tony Award for Best Costume Design. In addition, Mauro raised production financing for the Broadway musicals Promises, Promises and Nice Work If You Can Get It.

Scott’s credits as event producer include: UNICEF concert events in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago for the past 7 years; The All Star Memorial Salute to Garry Shandling in Los Angeles, the NY Pops 30th Anniversary Concert at Carnegie Hall; Museum of the Moving Image 2015 Salute to Julianne Moore, the 2013 Salute to Kevin Spacey, the 2012 Salute to Hugh Jackman and the 2011 Salute to Alec Baldwin; The Environmental Media Awards for three years; The Princess Grace Foundation Awards Gala for the past ten years; The Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards at Jazz at Lincoln Center for the past nine years; The Richard Rodgers Centennial Concert; The 2014, 2015 and 2016 WebMD Health Hero Awards in New York; Norman Lear’s Spirit of Liberty Awards in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C., for 8 years; The Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala for 8 years; Santa Barbara Film Festival Awards; The Palm Beach Film Festival Awards Gala for 3 years; the 16th & 17th Annual Producer’s Guild Awards; “Dreamgirls” – The 20th Anniversary Reunion Concert; The 20th Anniversary of “Hair” at the United Nations and many others.

For television, he served as Executive Producer and Packager on The 7th and 8th Annual Soap Opera Update Awards for Lifetime and Rosemary Clooney’s Golden Anniversary: An All-Star Tribute for A&E. Mauro served as a production and creative consultant on numerous award winning television specials including The 40th , 50th, 51st and 52nd Annual Tony Awards for CBS; Night of 100 Stars at Radio City; the wildly successful Downtown Abbey Preview Specials (2012-2016) for PBS; Ken Burn’s 25th Anniversary of the Civil War Special (PBS); Liza’s at the Palace for PBS; Cher Live at the Mirage for CBS; Diana Ross Live in Central Park for Showtime; the Parade of Stars at the Palace Theatre for ABC.
Mauro worked as Executive Producer and Creative Director on the Disney NBC special, The Grand Opening of the Disney/MGM Studios, which took home two Emmy Awards. His other Disney theme park specials include The Disney All-Star Comedy Circus, The Disney/NBC Season Preview and Mickey’s 60th Birthday among others. Mauro also earned an Emmy Nomination as writer and producer of the PBS special, The Whimsical World of Oz.

Biz Bash Magazine named the Museum of the Moving Image 2015 Salute to Julianne Moore as one of the top ten entertainment events in New York as well as citing the UNICEF Snowflake Ball as one of the top twenty charity events in New York. NBC TV cited the Museum of the Moving Image 2011 Salute to Alec Baldwin as “Event of the Year” and Biz Bash also named it one of the top 10 entertainment events of the year in New York. He received the 2012 FAME Award for the “Best Award Show” in New York for the 9th Annual Red Dress Awards and Concert at Lincoln Center. His production of the 2008 Environmental Media Awards was honored as one of the “Top 100 Events of the Year” in Los Angeles by Bizbash Magazine. The Larry King Cardiac Foundation’s King of Hearts Gala produced by Mauro in 2007 won “Event of the Year” in Los Angeles from BizBash Magazine.
