(PRESS RELEASE) — KRUNCH RIDDIM is one of the biggest soca riddims which will be ending off the year.
It is within the framework of collective work and development around the Dennery Segment music, the new musical genre of soca originating from the south of Saint Lucia, that DJ Fly from Martinique, the French label Eclectik Music, the TMT SOUND (a crew of French deejays from Martinique) and Unity Concept, have teamed up to make a riddim called the “Krunch Riddim”.This one has been made by the talented national Saint Lucian composer and singer “Krome” who has a song on the project also.
It should be known that the Dennery Segment is currently playing a lot in the French islands, especially in Martinique. It’s impossible to go out without hearing the Dennery Segment music playing in vehicles, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. This music is played everywhere on the island. It is urban music that dominates currently in Martinique.
Mr. Fabrice RAQUIL, president of the Unity Concept Association, declares that the intensification of exchanges between the two islands, Saint Lucia and Martinique in recent years, and the love of the Martinican for the Saint Lucian culture and its various festivals, have undoubtedly favored the development of Saint Lucian music in
the French West Indian islands. The collaboration between the French and the Saint Lucian producers is definitely a positive one for the Dennery Segment music, the artistes, and for Saint Lucia generally, and will provide more opportunities for Saint Lucian artistes to perform in the French West Indies islands, and also in France.
For the realization of this wonderful project, KRUNCH RIDDIM, the promoters wanted to collaborate with recording studios and producers based in Saint Lucia such as Veaygel Studio, Krome Studio, Ransum Recordz.
After several weeks and hours of recording with a host of artistes, this project can finally see the light of day. This riddim that was supposed to contain only four songs has more than a dozen today. Once the news was released that this great project was in progress, many artistes, who were not originally on the track, wanted to participate and consequently were grafted onto it later.
On the KRUNCH RIDDIM, we have the best artistes out of Saint Lucia such as UMPA, FRIZZY, SHEMMY J, KISHA, KROME, VEAYGEL, KELLY B, CROCADILE as well as HiITMAKER from Jamaica and Xman from Martinique.
